Refund & Cancellation Policy

The two plans

• Monthly — $9.99 per month. Renews automatically every month until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the month you already paid for.
• Annual — $79.99 per year. Renews automatically every twelve months until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid year.

Both plans unlock the same features and are charged in US dollars. Payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure checkout pages, and your subscription is tied to the account you signed in with. Every new account also gets one free entry, which is a one-time trial of the experience rather than a recurring free allowance. You can start either plan from the Plans page.

How to cancel

Open Manage subscription on your account page to reach the Stripe billing portal. There you can cancel, switch between monthly and annual, update your card, and download past invoices.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so nothing is cut off immediately: your Premium access stays active until the paid period ends, and no further charge is taken. Cancelling does not delete your journal — you can still export or delete your data yourself at any time from your account page.

If a payment fails

If a renewal payment is declined, Stripe will attempt it again and email you about the problem. Your subscription is marked past due, and your Premium access continues to the end of the period you already paid for. Updating your card in the billing portal is usually enough to put things right; if the payment is never completed, the subscription ends and access reverts to the normal limit. Your entries are not deleted.

Annual renewal reminders

For annual subscriptions we send a reminder email about 30 days before the renewal date, showing the renewal date, the amount and currency due, and a direct link to manage or cancel. Cancelling before the renewal date prevents the next charge. Reminders are not sent to cancelled subscriptions or to promotional access. This reminder is a courtesy — your renewal date is always shown on your account page.

Promo codes and promotional access

Promo codes are subject to the description, duration, dates, redemption limits and any other terms shown for that promotion. When a code grants free promotional Premium access, it lasts for the stated period, requires no payment card, and does not automatically become a paid subscription. When that free access ends, the account returns to its normal limits unless you choose to subscribe. Because free promotional access involves no payment, there is no promotional charge to cancel or refund. Other types of promotional codes, if offered, are governed by their stated terms and may work differently.

Refund policy

• Cancel any time. Both monthly and annual subscriptions can be cancelled whenever you like. Your access stays active through the end of the billing period you've already paid for.
• No automatic proration. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not generate a partial refund for unused time.
• Generally non-refundable. Subscription charges are generally non-refundable once processed, except where a refund is required by law.
• Billing problems, reviewed individually. Duplicate charges, billing errors, or a documented technical failure that prevented you from accessing the service are reviewed case by case through support.
