Privacy Policy
Effective September 4, 2026. This page explains, in plain language, what Divorce Confessions stores and what you can do about it. Divorce Confessions is offered in the United States and is intended for adults aged 18 or older.
Divorce Confessions is operated by Obsidian Marketing Ltd. You can reach us by email at obsidianmarketingltd@gmail.com.
The short version
Divorce Confessions stores deeply personal material: your written journal entries, the mood you select for each entry, the emotion tags you choose, any goals and routines you create, your account information and basic subscription information. We do not sell your journal content, and we do not share journal content for advertising.
What we collect
- Journal content. The text of every entry you save, its date and time, the mood rating you pick and any emotion tags you attach.
- Goals and routines. Any goals you create (title, optional description, optional category, optional target date and status), any tasks or routines you create (including how often they repeat and whether they are linked to a goal), and the record of which scheduled days you marked complete.
- Account information. Your email address and authentication details, or the basic profile information returned by Google if you sign in that way.
- Subscription information. Your plan status, plan type, billing interval and period dates, plus the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers that link your account to your subscription, so the app knows what access you have.
- Usage information. Records needed to run the product, such as entry counts used for streaks, milestones and the free-entry limit, plus ordinary server and error logs.
Why we use it
We use this information to show you your own entries, goals, routines and history, calculate Patterns and Milestones, keep you signed in, apply your plan, respond to support requests, and keep the service running and secure. We do not use your journal content to build advertising profiles.
Site analytics
To understand how people find us, we keep our own first-party visit statistics. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, session recording or cookies for this, and we do not sell or share this information.
- What is recorded. Only when you are signed out and only on public pages (home, Plans, sign-in, support and legal pages): the page name, the referring website's domain, and these campaign tags if present in the link — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content. Other parts of the web address are discarded. Nothing is recorded while you are signed in, and journal entries, prompts, moods, emotion tags, goals and routines are never included.
- Network address. We do not store your IP address. Our server converts it into a one-way scrambled code using a secret key (keyed hash) so repeat visits from the same network can be counted. This code can still be considered personal information under some US state laws.
- Browser storage. A random visit ID is kept in your browser's session storage until the tab closes. Your first landing page, referring domain and campaign tags are kept in local storage for up to 30 days and, if you create an account, are saved with your account once and then removed from the browser.
- Retention. Visit records are deleted automatically after 13 months. Sign-up source details are deleted with your account.
- Account and payment counts. We count sign-ups, checkout starts and subscriptions from our own account records and Stripe's records for internal reporting only.
- Our hosting provider also keeps aggregate visit statistics for the site.
Who can see your entries
Journal entries are tied to your authenticated account. The app's database uses per-user access rules so that a signed-in account can only read and write its own rows; other users of Divorce Confessions cannot read your entries through the app. A small number of operators and our hosting/database provider have technical access to the underlying systems, as is true of any hosted product. We may also access data where necessary to resolve a support request you raise, to investigate abuse, or where required by law.
We do not claim any security certification, formal audit, specific encryption standard, HIPAA compliance or other regulatory compliance. No online service can promise perfect security, and we make no such guarantee.
Service providers
We rely on third parties to operate the app: Lovable Cloud provides our hosting and database (where your account and entries are stored) and sends account emails such as confirmation, password reset and renewal reminders; Stripe processes subscription payments. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's own checkout pages and are never seen or stored by Divorce Confessions. Stripe receives the information it needs to bill you — such as your email address and an account identifier — and keeps its own payment and invoice records under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Your entries and account information are kept for as long as your account exists, because the product's value is your own history. When you use the in-app Delete my account option, the app removes your account, your entries, your goals, routines and completion history, your profile and your plan record. Our hosting provider takes routine daily backups and keeps operational logs for a short rolling window (currently about five days), so copies of deleted data may persist briefly in those backups and logs before they rotate out. Payment and invoice records held by Stripe are kept by Stripe for as long as its own financial record-keeping obligations require, and are not removed by deleting your Divorce Confessions account.
Your controls
- Export. Download all of your entries, goals and routines as JSON or CSV from your account page.
- Delete an entry. Remove individual entries at any time.
- Delete your account. Permanently remove your account and associated app data.
US privacy rights (including California)
Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request a copy of it, to request correction, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Under California law (CCPA/CPRA) we also state plainly: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise access and deletion rights directly in the app via export and account deletion, or by contacting us through the Support page. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
Access, correction, deletion and portability
Whatever privacy law applies to you, we aim to honor the same core requests: you can access and export your information, correct it, and delete it, using the in-app controls described above or by contacting us through the Support page. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. Divorce Confessions is a United States service; if other jurisdictions' laws apply to you, we will handle requests in line with those laws where required.
Children
Divorce Confessions is intended for adults aged 18 or older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions about privacy can go to obsidianmarketingltd@gmail.com or through the Support page.
